This image was snapped during a triathlon event at Lake Leatherwood, AR, sometime in the spring of 2007.
Compositionally, it’s a great photo. Technically, it’s very strong. But that’s not why I like this photo. I like it because I connect to it on a personal level. It takes me back home for a moment. Back to summer days and cool waters. Back to sailing through the air and feeling minnows kiss my legs. It takes me home.
This is why I shoot. I create images that connect. They click. They pop off all kinds of warm neurons in your brain and give you the big-moment goosebumps that make a thrill worth it. They make you want to go back and do it all over again.
I’m glad you made it to my blog, where I will be posting the images I connect to on a personal level. I hope I can share the thrill I get with you and maybe you’ll understand me better that way.
